Went to this movie with my husband, brother, and sister-in-law. I really felt for the characters in the movie. You feel their tension, stress, grief, and joy throughout the show. I was not the only member of the audience cheering when Secretariat crossed the finish line. Even though I knew Secretariat had won the Triple Crown, because of the way the film was made, you feel the suspense and may even wonder, "Can he do it?" I enjoyed myself and so did everyone with me.
The rapport between Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr as Dr. Watson and Sherlock Holmes was spot on. Mark Strong played the villainous Lord Blackwood very well. He personified evil without going too far.
The action sequences were sometimes over the top, but it kept us highly entertained. It was worth the price of admission.
This movie has beautiful scenery and a lot of intense battle scenes. My family loved the first Narnia movie and we were just as enthralled with this one. People who have never read the book or who missed the first movie would not have understood all that was happening, though.
My husband and I may have enjoyed this movie even more than the two 13 year old kids with us. The animation, scenery and graphics were well done. The plot was expected yet the humor kept it fresh and engaging.
