To start with, The Phantom Menace is definitely my least favorite of the series, but I understand its purpose in terms of storytelling. That being said, I still looked forward to bringing my wife to see the film on the big screen for her first time seeing it.
Like many, I had hoped that the 3D scenes would help to enhance the experience of watching a movie I've seen several times already. However, I ended being rather disappointed with its execution. First, I found many of the scenes that were not in 3D tended to be blurry. Also, I'm not sure if it was just the theatre or the glasses, but I found many of the scenes to be unusually dark. Lastly, though it was acceptable, I did not find that the 3D truly provided the wow type of experience I was anticipating.
So while I did not hate the 3D showing of this film, I did not particularly love it either and I will likely pass on seeing subsequent 3D Star Wars releases.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

When I first saw that they were going to be making another Planet of the Apes movie, I had definite doubts about it being good. However, after watching the trailer with Caesar protecting John Lithgow's character, I knew this would be a great movie. The emotion they were able to display on the faces of the apes was incredible. Also, they were not any major plot holes that I could find. I would certainly recommend this film to anyone who is a fan of science fiction, as well as those who love movies that have soem depth to them.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Overall I thought it was a fun, entertaining movie. The final third of the movie was definitely my favorite with its awesome battle sequences.
The scenes with the human characters I felt were kind of overdone in some cases. I think Bay tried to show off his new starlet way too much, but she added little extra besides being a damsel in distress.
Also, this movie was overly long at 2.5 hours. I feel at least a good 30 minutes could have been cut from the film.
In the end, definitely see this movie if you're looking for a great summer blockbuster, especially in IMAX 3D.

Overall I thought the movie was decent. I didn't have any major gripes about acting and such. My biggest problem was that I thought that there would be more storyline involving the Cullens. I really the liked family aspect of the first film. This one, however, really did not involve them much at all. This may not even be a problem with the movie since I have never read any of the books. I just personally enjoy the vampire part of it much more.
