I have always been intrigued by Wolverine and this movie finally answered all of the questions about him: who is he, how did he become what he is and why does he not remember any of it. There was a nice mix of action, amazing special effects and drama, with a touch of humor. I don't know how true to the comic the story is since my only experience with X-Men was the cartoon but I feel the movie tried to stay true to the concept of a comic. We also get to see a few of our favorite X-Men in what I assume is foreshadowing for the upcoming movies. I highly recommend this movie to all. You don't need to have any prior knowledge to follow the film just bring an open mind, sit back and enjoy.
I felt the story line stayed true to the tv version, wether or not that is true to the original manga I can't say. The casting was wonderful as were the special effects. The dubbing, as with almost every dubbed movie I have seen unfortunately made the movie humorous in parts that were not meant to be humorous. The biggest flaw was that they did not translate the text that was on the screen. I have never seen a movie rely so heavily of visual clues as this did. It was very frustrating when they were clearly alluding to something and showing the clue in the text but it was all in Japanese. Overall I enjoyed the movie but was very irritated at the constant use of text that was not translated.
