Fun end of summer movie

I went into GI Joe with very low expectations, especially after seeing some of the commercials (power suits?). That didn't say GI Joe to me. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I actually enjoyed the movie.
The movie is fun, full of action, a little bit of humor (especially with a couple well known lines popping up in unexpected places), and the acting was on par with most movies of this genre, maybe even a bit above par. I won't lie and say there weren't some things I was less than thrilled with (the aforementioned "power suits", the guy who played Duke is kind of a dead fish, I think), but overall, it was a good movie. I will probably be buying it on video when it comes out, and will be looking forward to a sequel, if it comes.

Cool movie, but feel cheated by Imax cost

I heard lots of review, mostly bashing this movie, which was totally expected. I think of this movie as being "review-proof" (even if I am writing one myself) because of the type movie it is. Lots of mindless action, cool special effects, hot women all more than made up for the silly story that was presented. I thought this movie was fun summer entertainment, especially for fanboys and girls of the old shows. My one and only complaint is the extra cost for seeing this in "Imax" presentation.I could have paid less to see it in a regular theater, but wanted to check out the "Imax Experience" at regular theater. Not really worth the extra money.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
