As far as the movie goes, it does a nice job and the IMAX 3D is good, but I think that seeing the movie in 2D would be just about the same experience. The filming was sharp and the scenery was excellent. All the cast is back for the last hurah and there's enough action that even if you did read the book, you probably won't be disappointed.
As far as the plot goes, the book readers will be disappointed, but not too much (I speak from personal experience). Not really knowing why scenes are made-up and the ones in the book aren't used, I just accept them as they come and it all fits together.
The bottom line: at the end of the film, everyone was applauding - even me! The movie is, after all, about good overcoming evil - yep, it does that!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Kevin James gives a great performance as a man confused about life's choices on who to marry and what to do - be a zookeeper or live life in the fast lane selling high-priced sports cars for his brother, which gets him what he believes is the girl of his dreams. His big heart eventually points the right way to go, but during this time, his life is a real zoo, and the advice he gets isn't always suited to being human.
Rosario Dawson gives a great performance too and is absolutely beautiful - the first time I've seen her in a role that shows off her femininity. And then there's the aminals - they add lots to the movie, but don't over-power it. Everything is well-played and the animal FX effects are great!
Final thoughts: It's good family entertainment that's worth seeing now and downloading later!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

A good try - closer to the book, but confusing

First, I watched this movie twice. Having read the book, I can say that this movie has more of it than the previous three movies.
However, the emotion that should be there isn't, especially Harry's anger or his passion. And there are a number of scenes (Bellatrix and Narcissa at Snape's home, the reason Dumbledore knows about the underground cave...etc.) that don't take the time to explain what's happening.
Overall, it's better than the last three movies before it, but it leaves out a lot of great detail.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Cut to the chase - if you expect a really happy ending with a great big wedding, you'll be disappointed. However, if you like stories that are quirky but funny and movies that have the right cast chemistry, then The Proposal is for you!
The scenery is beautiful and Sandra Bullock is outstanding in this fairytale story of how a complete witch becomes a really nice person who develops feelings for others.
It may be no accident that the ending of the movie parallels the first great movie Bullock made, While You Were Sleeping. I suggest you go see it and decide!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This was somewhat of a surprise to my wife and I, since we though it would be just another comedy of adolescence, but it's so much more!
Although not a "G" film, the language is appropriate for the message the characters are imparting, that of how decisions affect more than just the person making them, and how it feels like to be a teenager. But everything is scripted and acted very well, with beautiful comedic timing! Even though this film deals with many serious things, it is very poignant and funny, thanks to a great cast!
The best recommendation that we can give is that we will buy the film the first day it is released to the public!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I'll try to be fair and not compare this to Peter Sellers' masterpieces, which would be very unfair - to both Mr. Sellers and the folks that starred in this stupid offering.
The latest Pink Panther movie stars competent actors, but has very few truly funny moments. The movie takes a long time to get into gear and the rare times that there is something to laugh at is too infrequent.
It was good to see Lily Tomlin again - she looks good for a woman of her age (70+?) and still has good comedic timing. Still, she couldn't breath life into this cadaver.
The redeeming features of the film could be the scenery, with views of Rome and Paris. So if you like travelogues with stupid plots, this movie might be for you.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
