Plot and characters are bit one-dimensional and predictable, but no different than star wars. The movie was detailed and interesting, with enough action to keep you engaged. The 3D was immersive and not gimmicky. Truly enjoyed every minute of the movie--will not be the same as a rental or not in 3D, so go see it while you can.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Fun, but not without flaws

Terrific character development, fantastic effects and cinematography. The story... well...don't set your expectations too high and just enjoy the ride.
