I was very impressed at the level of commitment Rob made to the character Eric Packer. It was a wonderful experience to watch the destruction and simultaneous evolution of his character on-screen. To see him initially start as almost robotic to finally expressing powerful human emotion by the end was nothing short of brilliant.
The dialogue is a little hard to follow, initially but I got the hang of it rather quickly and enjoyed the rather poetic prose by the end of the film. There were periods of sheer awkwardness that were, I believe, necessary in the film and David and Rob do a good job of allow the viewer to be guided through the movie and at times, draw our own conclusion based on the events unfolding on-screen.
The final climatic scenes at the end between Benno and Packer are the very best in the movie, second being Packer and his wife's - with their final scene being the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back.
If there were ever a doubt that Rob could act before Cosmopolis, those concerns should clearly be laid to rest now. Long gone is the sparkly vampire and a true Hollywood legend in the making has arisen from those ashes!
I highly recommend you see this movie. Go support two amazing artists at the top of their craft!
