As loud and awesome as most of the movie is, unfortunately it's a straight up hollywood version of a Transformers story. The first Transformers movie was made for everyone and I think thats why it worked so well. It introduced Transformers to the non-fan and satisfied the fans in all aspects. Unfortunately the sequel gets mished mashed and unlike the previous movie, robots dont get much screen time as far as dialogue. The promise of more characters kept me on edge and anticipation, but when they appeared on screen, it was not worth the wait :-( Hey, then again, as a teen 20 + years ago I always wondered when a Transformers movie would come out :-) and regardless Im excited.
I was a bit skeptical after the last two F&F movies. The first movie came out during the "tuner" craze and it helped put a lot of fast cars on the streets.
The story in this one is well written, the characters have substance and of course the cars are amazing. Unlike 2 Fast 2 Furious, this installment is not a car commercial for any type of car. The action is non-stop and the twists keep you guessing a bit.
