The close-ups really worked. Could've used a few more wide-angle, "ensemble" shots, especially when the stage was filled. Last-nunite Escamillo was great, Don Jose scraped one of the notes in the "Rose aria." Carmen was superb! Tho they could've had some blood on her after the stabbing; they did so during the "theives' oath." Renee Fleming was just terrific, as were the backstage "insider" views.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
