This movie is what it is! If you are going to see a highly intelligent, well written dialogue, oscar award winning, yada, yada, yada? Then this movie would not be for you.
We took our 9 and 11 year old boys, 22 and 16 yr old daughters and everyone got something fun out of it! The storyline is alright. It makes you want to cheer and there is some sad moments in it that got to the 9 year old, but he shook that off just fine as it went on.
It was funny that, at one point, I leaned over to my Husband and said, 'I feel like I'm watching Independence Day"! And later after the movie, my daughters were joking about the same thing. So, that's the type of movie that you can expect. A few laughs, some serious moments. Great job on that Actor from The Unit (amongst many other things). He played a Father who had a hard time connecting with his son on an emotional level and his performance was excellent! In fact, with a few minor exceptions, all of the acting was done well.
In the end, we walked away all saying it was better than we thought it would be and having a great family night at the movies! If you take it for what it is, it will be a fun wild ride!
Pros well paced, great actors, good storyline, better than we thought it would be!

Went with the family (8 & 10 Yr old boys, 15 year old girl, husband and wife). The special effects were EXCELLENT! Definately worth seeing. The humor was great, but not crude. It was nice that they didn't play up the T&A portions of the movie. Had limited cussing and good story line. Kept all of us engaged without me constantly covering my sons eyes!
All in all, great movie. Would definately see it again and seeing it in IMAX really enhanced it!
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, t&a kept to minimum, adult humor but not crude, excellent special effects

I'm a fan of all the RE movies and this one had more of a story. It was really good. We thoroughly enjoyed it!

Good food for all ages!

This was a smart, funny movie that held the attention of 5 and 7 year old boys, a 13 year old girl and a 45 year old adult. There was some funny adult humor, but it was clean and not so out there that I got a "mommy, what does that mean" from the boys. All in all, good food fun for everyone!

I expected alot of action from a Michael Bay movie, however, it seemed almost to much. It became overwhelming to the story line & visually. It was difficult to keep up with at times. There was quite a bit of adult humor (adult scenes, nothing too overt) & some cussing (particularly from Mom, which actually made her character funny & endearing). If you've a problem explaining that to younger kids, you may want to wait for the DVD. We took our 5/7 yr old boys & 12 yr old girl. The interaction of Mom/Dad were great! Funny & touching throughout the movie. We all loved that the Marines were back! All in all, everyone enjoyed it. If you take it for what it is you'll have fun!
