For all Steve Carell fans! The rest of the cast is dynamite as well! Funny and fun! Never been a great Ryan Gosling fan, but he did an outstanding job. Both sexes will enjoy.
For those of you guys like me, who would rather go see action flicks, I have to say I am glad I gambled on this chick-comedy-romance. The movie was really good. Kristin Wiig is flat out a great comedic actress. And I stress the word "actress". She is convincing and draws out your emotions. The ensemble cast was fun, especially Rose Byrne. She was the Zach Galifianikis of this movie - Just Hilarious!! This was more girlfriend comedy than romantic comedy, but there was just enough romance for the happy ending that we all expected. Guys, take the chance. You won't regret it.
Very good movie with solid acting. Though there were a few short moments in the middle of the movie where i was just a tad bored, overall I was entertained. Loved the ending!
I was a little nervous about this movie based on only 72% of viewers approving on this website. But I am so glad my wife and I took the chance! Both of us loved it! It had the action that I love, and it really was a great romance as well! In fact, my wife, who is a harsh critic when it comes to romantic movies, gave it an A++. The cool thing was that all the action revolved around the love b/w the two leads. I would absolutely recommend this to couples!
From start to finish, my wife and I enjoyed this film from Director Paul Haggis (Crash). The acting was excellent by all involved and we were on the edge of our seat the entire time. Not a dull moment! In movies like this, it is sometimes easy to have everything "go just right" for events to be pulled off, albeit sometimes unrealistically. And though there were just a few moments like that, not everything went "just right" throughout the movie. This was important to the legitimacy of the film and kept us on the edge. We both were very happy to have seen this show!
"Action-Comedy" says it all! This was a fun movie! Great action and writing! The All-Star cast had great chemistry! John Malkovich was hilarious, as was Mary Louis Parker! Bruce was awesome as usual! My wife loved this too and laughed all throughout the movie! Go see! You won't be disappointed!
After reading that 99% of reviewers recommended this movie, I expected much more than I got. Despite a few funny moments, the Disney movie had ridiculous dialogue! John Malkovich did the best he could with the poor script, but Diane Lane's poor acting was unbelievable and even made me cringe at times. This is supposed to be a "feel good" movie, but the poor script and weak acting mostly just bored me.
Both my wife and I enjoyed this movie. The acting alone was reason enough to see the movie. The skill of the 4 leads kept us hinged to our seats and our anticipation for each and every interaction, extremely high. My wife's heartstrings were probably pulled a little more than mine were and I'm sure she would have given it 5 stars. Though we were some of the younger members in the audience, I think this movie would appeal to anyone who enjoys a good drama.
Of the three-hundred movies my wife and I have seen together in the theaters, there are only just a few that we felt we wasted money on. This probably falls into that catagory.
The fact that we both enjoy the actors is what kept us comfortably in our seats. Though there were a few chuckles, we both were mostly bored.
My wife and I typically read the user reviews on this website before going to see any film and for this movie, the trend continued. And what I gathered from reading the user reviews was that if you enjoyed the Saturday Night Live skit, you would enjoy this movie. Our expectations were met! There were enough "laugh out loud" moments spread out throughout the movie to make it memorable. And though we went a few lengthy periods without those moments, we were never bored and had at minimum, a smile throughout the movie. We would recommend this movie to anyone who likes SNL and would even recommend it to those looking for a 90 minute escape from the daily grind!
