A giant leap in movie technology

Avatar has used digital technology to create creatures that express feeling and emotion that you can actually sense just as you would with a real human actor. That is by itself no mean achievement. The idea of a human who moves into an alien body and experiences their life physically and mentally is very creative and the execution of this idea stellar.
Now for the criticism. The theme of 'going native' and empathizing with an alien culture's beliefs and view points is unoriginal and extremely predictable, so much so that parts of the movie are a little boring at times
But , hey this is a fantasy flick and people should not expect much more than to get their $10's worth of entertainment. And i certainly did.
