The filmmakers seemed to have no focus on this one. Too many layers, disconnected script and lack of depth..all being covered up by numerous senseless explosions and noise. Save your money.
It would be a lot less annoying if it was not hyped up and marketed at such levels. This movie was like a high-school soap opera more than what it is marketed as, which is an action-adventure series demanding some emotional depth. It almost seemed like the makers had run out of ideas. And all throughout there have been attempts to glorify the central character of Potter with labels as 'the chosen one' even though the character comes out completely ordinary and lacklustre.
As the title says, this was a pretty good movie, and the screenplay, acting and direction were plain awesome. A rustic entertainer in an era of shallow special effects and plastic emotions. A thorough eye-opener into the corruption and dogma of organized religions as well.
This is a mediocre movie at its best. It is definitely driven more by a sadistic impulse than to portray reality in India..because it is not an accurate portrayal. The heartiness is superficial and the directors seem to have gone a bit too far to sensationalize with unnecessarily crude stuff. The slum-dwellers are a complete minority there but they still live relatively colorful, happy lives than is shown here.
really old. You put these two guys together, and this is the best you come up with? An extremely watered down, and shallow movie..i'd recommend you rather watch Heat again.
The movie was mediocre, nothing great. The attempts to send out deep messages were quite pretentious at times. The story was not complete..the action predictable. The joker was quite well acted by Ledger. All in all recommended but not highly.
The word horrible is the perfect description. Yucky non-sensical violence with blood everywhere, disconnected script, lack of substance..only some bent bullets...movies were supposed to be fun..hollywood seems to be running out of substance. It is quite clear that the online reviews seem heavily inaccurate and biased these days.
This movie deserves a lot more than 1 or 2 stars as a majority here have rated it. I love Shyamalan movies, and though was a lil disappointed with the pace of The Village, this one was a lot more atmoshperic. I guess his movies target a more sophisticated bunch, and not the ones who enjoy the shallow cheesy stuff that dogs a majority of halls today.
We enjoyed this movie, except for a few shallow emotional spots in between about Jones' son and wife and all that did not fit in very well and kind of obstructed the adventurous flow of the script. And plus they need to reduce polarising the script into a good vs bad thing so much. Other than that, it was quite entertaining and worth the bucks.
