Missed the Mark

First off in a movie presumably for kids, the kid dies about 5 minutes into the movie. I understand that drives the plot, but one would think there would be a better explanation for what happened than he simply died. In addition, it certainly was a bit too scary for young kids. Finally, and i imagine most importantly, the plot line was too stupid to keep adults interested. If nothing better to do, than it will entertain the kids, but basically a disappointment.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
