Believe the hype!

Ignore that Oprah and Tyler Perry have their names all over this. You will forget all about them within five minutes of the film's start. anyway.
It is not always easy to watch this movie and it shouldn't be. The things you do see are only surpassed by the sickening things merely alluded to. Still this is a tale of determination and hope out of the most dire of circumstances and must be seen.
Gabourey Sidibe is a magnetic presence as Precious, To say Mo'Nique is outstanding in her role as Precious' abusive mother, Mary, just does not cut it. That she will almost make you feel sorry for the monster she portrays is the testament to her certain to be Oscar nominated performance.
GO SEE THIS MOVIE!
