This is a modern masterpiece. It truly captures the spirit of the time. The acting was superb, as was the script. The attention to authentic detail was astounding. After the film, I went out to dinner with friends in celebration of my birthday. Knowing that I am a Civil War buff, one gift I received was a wonderful collection of Brady Civil War photographs. We looked through the book and marveled at how closely the characters in the movie resembled the people they portrayed.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, great attention to historical details
