While the effects were good the story left me somewhat cold. Further, I had no sympathy for the lead character, any character for that matter.

Time warp with a twist.

This movie bought me back to my childhood, watching Speed Racer after school. This interpretation is a wonderful reinvention of a classic. I would have given it 5 stars, except at times I thought the visuals were a little too chaotic, though stunning none the less. Go see it. Go, Speed Racer, Go!

I was never really sold on this movie. One thing I use to judge a movie is whether I am aware of the movie theater around me. With this movie I was aware of my bum on the seat, the people sitting around me, the stickiness of the floor, and the very slow moving, very predictable plot line. The film's saving grace was it's special effects. It's a movie one could wait to see on DVD.
