I have NEVER left a movie in my entire life; until last night. This movie never went anywhere... the characters were not interesting... and the level of gore was simply unnecessary. How disappointing... Peter Jackson--- you let us down.
I can honestly say that this is the funniest movie I have seen in a decade. Rarely does an audience laugh throughout a movie and have the laughter continue into the parking lot. A must-see for anyone about to go on a bacholar party (and needs the give their fiancé a good scare). :) Can't wait for this to come onto DVD.
I really had high hopes for the movie. Unfortunately, the plot was simply poorly developed and the level of gore was quite over to top. This movie tried to be “The Matrix”, but without the good character development or story. Now, I have no problem watching a violent movie when it adds to the story. However, it seems they added violence and gore for the sake of the violence and gore. The point where I said 'this is ridiculous' is when James McAvoy shoots a guy in the head, sticks the gun through his eye, and continues to shoot other people through this guys skull. Now really, what on earth did that add? Ironically, at that point, people were actually laughing! Did people see this scene as ridiculous and I did or were these people just psychopaths? Oh well. This movie wasn't even worth a netflix rental.
