I had such high expectations for this movie and unfortunately it didn't live up to them. I thought it was a decent movie, but the first was far superior to this one. Quite often sequels will not equal out to match the first movie and this is one that follows that notion.
It was still a good movie and those that like/love the books or just a good fantasy movie should definitely see it in the movie theater. I do suggest if you did not see the first, to see the first though. Someone in the theater by me was a bit confused. I also hope that they continue with making the additional stories and I think this movie leaves it open so they can.
