Let me preface this by saying that I love Sex and the City (the TV series and first movie). The characters, the writing, the acting, the story lines... all great. THIS is not Sex and the City. It may be the same characters and the same actors but the acting, the writing, and the story lines that made Sex and the City great are all GONE. The acting in the first ten minutes of the movie made me think I was watching a high school play (and I'm not talking a "Glee" high school play). The writers tried to throw in one obnoxious one-liner after another and NONE of them were funny. There was no chemistry between Carrie and Big and hardly any between any of the girls!
The movie was so awful, that it made me feel sad. Sad for the actors that clearly "just weren't into" this movie, sad for the writers who are clearly out of touch, and sad for the fans who (after sitting for 2.5 hours) will be left with THIS as the last memory of their (former) favorite characters.
