I didn't realize what a trekky I was until I saw this. It was so slick and action packed. It was such a pleasure to watch, like an old friend. The characters popped and were very familiar to me immediately. I was a kid for the original series and didn't like it because my big sister did, but had to watch anyway because my mom had a crush on Kirk. It was so worthy! It was very "Star Trek" in the feel, but also very modern. It would be wonderful for a whole new series to begin due to this adaptation. I recommended it to someone the day after I saw it and they went and enjoyed it that same day.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
