Oops... for there to be a spoiler I'd have to reveal something about the plot.... there isn't one. Woof, what a boring movie! Nothing happened! If it was cut to just have the shootouts, it would be a great 23 minute movie! I so never ended up caring for the poor, poor criminals or the people that loved them. I ended up wishing the credits would roll.... but i had to wait for over an hour for that to happen!. Lots of great actors miscast and wasted in a movie that nothing happened in. (Also, Depp and Bale's roles should have been reversed) Should not have even gone straight to video. I'm not joking..... skip Public Enemies.
I felt that the animation/graphics were great, as usual. It was obvious that much of the effort was put into it being 3D (even though we didn't see the 3D version), therefore, lacking in story. I find this to be the case in all movies made in 3D. (I'm gonna start avoiding them) My almost 5 year old liked it, so that made it worth it, but I'm not likely to add this to her DVD collection.
This is a good movie and the action is worth seeing at the theater. It has been way underated and way under recommended here.... so i gave it 5 stars to try to bring that up a bit. The reality is that i would give 3 and a half to 4 stars if folks hadn't been so harsh. Again, this movie is worth seeing... It's good.
Exciting and suspensful even though you think you know the ending based on history.
But was I the only one to see the boom mike in about 7 scenes? They had good sound and special effects... they were even able to make body parts disappear, so why did they leave the modern production equipment in the final cut? Did the producers think that we would think that the Nazis filmed these conspiracy meetings and the boom mikes were there in 1944? It was distracting and pretty frustrating in a movie that cost that much.... it should not have gotten to wide release with this glitch. Otherwise it was a good flick and worth seeing.
The animation was spectacular. The story interesting.... to an older crowd.... I had a 4 year old and a 12 year old with me to see this, along with my wife. The 12 year old looked bored and the 4 year old asked if we could go home half way through. That's why I only gave it 3 stars.... it is definately marketed to children, but the story line is just too complex for small kids. This will make a ton of money since it has been anticipated for so long, pixar has done a great job so far and the older folks who enter reviews here will rave about it, but I think it let the kids down.
Very good. Very exciting. I was worried there would be too much action and not enough story or acting.... but I worried for nothing.... there was good story, action and acting. See it!
Folks, this is not the best of the series. It was okay, just okay. Not a waste of money, but it doesn't live up to the hype. I'm not a harsh rater, this just didn't live up to the rest of the series.
Anyway, this movie was very enjoyable for me and my wife.
There's lots of fighting and the plot/story might be too much for the very young, so my 4 year old will just have to wait a few years before I let her see this. However, I'd say that this movie would be understood (in different ways) and enjoyed by most everyone older then 6.
Just got home from seeing this and I just had to submit my review right away.....
I was not disappointed in this movie a bit! It delivers on story, excitement, bullets and explosions. It even has some love in it for those who need that in an action flick for some reason.
I lied about not being disappointed with anything.... with all the bullets, shrapnel, explosions, death, etc... there was no blood... there's blood in the comic books, isn't there?
