On the night I watched this, most everyone in the theater seemed to appreciate what the movie had to offer--beautiful Parisian scenery, the motley cast of characters, the clever plot and the humor. Very nostalgic, intoxicating movie for this viewer. I can see how it might not click with movie goers not inclined toward F. Scott Fitzgerald, Gertrude Stein, Picasso, or the world of art and literature in general. I overheard one person in the lobby afterward declaring that the movie was "way over his head," and he seemed to be exhibiting himself as an average Joe with no elitist leanings. The movie does a lot more than invite some kind of clash between the "liberal arts" and the not so liberal arts-- the movie is well crafted, and well acted, and the humor often caught me off guard. I'll go back, if only to see the detective who made a wrong turn somewhere between the 1920's and the Dark Ages.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I liked this movie--went with my 8 year old daughter, and didn't expect much. Lots of fun. Would see it again, the voices were excellent, memorable characters.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
