See it With No Expectations and You'll Have Fun!

My girlfriend and I saw it last night. She hated it -- too corny -- but I liked it a lot. We both agree that the scenery is beautiful (it reminds me when I went to Santorini in 2006, the moonlight and sunsets in Oia are amazing), and that Christine Baranski is the best singer (she is a professional singer, in fact). The plot is threadbare, just a vehicle to hang the songs on. But here's the thing -- if you go in there with low expectations, and just give yourself over to the goofy silliness of it all, then you'll enjoy yourself. You can tell by watching the actors' faces that they REALLY enjoyed making this movie -- after all it's the Greek Islands! What a beautiful part of the world to live in. --- IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE YOU STAY AFTER THE CREDITS ROLL FOR A SPECIAL SURPRISE!
