Comic Hero Makes the Grade

Iron Man hit the big screen yesterday and officially opened the summer blockbuster season with a bang. One of the rare instances when a comic book superhero story translates successfully into a live action movie. This movie was cast extremely well and the story was fun and exciting. The biggest challenge that most superhero movies face in their initial offering is that they must go through the traditional "origins" story. It is always fun to watch film makers reinterpret this story, which most of us "kids" that grew up on comic books or Saturday morning cartoons know so well already. However, they usually limit the story and do not offer an extremely sophisticated plot or character development. However, Iron Man seems to overcome that challenge well to provide an entertaining experience for movie goers in a 2 hour package and leaves the audience ready for more. I hope we will see an Iron Man 2 or Avengers movie in the future. However, this will only work if Robert Downey Jr. reprises the role. He is Iron Man.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
