Looked forward to this movie for months and it did not let me down. I loved it! Went to the very first showing of the morning in 3-D. The story may be too much for the very little ones. And parents, PLEASE, if your toddler is not ready to sit through an entire movie without getting up, kicking and climbing on chairs, and talking, please wait for the dvd. Movie was almost ruined for me by the little one behind me, who's mom was oblivious!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I don't think the story lives up to the hype given to the computer effects. I thought the first two thirds were boring and the last third was predictable violence. I am offended at the way the military is portrayed. In the 22nd century, the military commander thinks of the native peoples as "mindless savages"? That isn't acceptable today, why would it be 150 years from now?!? Only one member of the military has the fortitude to say this isn't right and to think for herself? By all means, go see it and enjoy the 3-D effects, but don't look for a worthwhile story.
