Visually this movie is stunning. However it seems that Tim Burton has lost his ability for telling a story. The dialogue and the characters were stilted and difficult to care for. The Mad Hatter dancing scene was particularly painful as it all came off gimmicky. Overall I'd say that this was a 'movie-by-committee' and completely lacked the whimsy and soul of Burton's past triumphs.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
