Finally -- an intelligent summer movie!!

This summer movie season has been so disappointing -- until "Inception". Intriguing concept, intelligent dialogue, great cast and mind-blowing visuals -- it was a rare and satisfying combination! We couldn't believe it had been 2 1/2 hours when the movie ended -- and we are planning to see it again. There movie is so rich that it seems impossible to absorb it all in one viewing. A must-see.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Best 3-D I've seen and great story

Definitely see this movie in 3-D -- I think its use of 3D is better than Avatar. The flying scenes, the wind and an amazing ash effect toward the end of the movie were breath-taking. The story is funny and sweet, the dialogue very hip and real. It's uncanny to me how they can make animated figures convey so much emotion in their faces. My 21-year-old son and I both LOVED it. Definitely a must-see (although don't bring children under 7 or 8; some of the scenes are intense and more so because of the 3-D; two very young children had to be taken out of the theatre crying when we saw it)
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Not an Oscar nominee, but ...

We would really have given this 3 1/2 stars but that wasn't an option! My husband and I went in with expectations set to see a charming fluff kind of movie and that's what we got. The "good" characters were very appealing, the "bad" characters appropriately got their comeupance and all was well with the world by the end of the movie. We really liked how more kinds of loving relationships were covered than just angsty romances between beautiful young white couples. Very sweet -- go see it!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Movie was surprisingly poignant and very funny. Surprisingly frank too, and I cringed a little at some of it, as I was watching it with two teen-age girls who thought that some of the "more mature" references were "gross"! This movie could have been pretty inconsequential if it weren't Meryl Streep playing the lead -- she was WONDERFUL and made it hilarious and meaningful at the same time. Alec Baldwin is becoming one of my favorite actors and Steve Martin was as sweet as his "Roxanne" days -- why doesn't he make more movies like this rather than "The Pink Panther"?? Highly recommended.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
