Disappointing

The visuals were dizzying, one of our party was actually nauseated. However, if you have the stomach for it, it is worth seeing the spectacle in the theatre. The cheshire cat and red witch were wonderful. The white witch and dormouse were downright stupid. The storyline was disjointed, which I expected, but also boring and typical hollywood, which was a huge let down, unexpected for Tim Burton. It undermined and mocked the spirit of the original story. Worse, the ending was trite, insulting to the audience, and insulting to all women as it undermines the true history of women of the time period. The ending made me leave nauseated. Prepare to enjoy the pretty pictures, and not much else.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
