This movie was good but not as scary as I had hoped. It would be scary if this stuff had really happened, but knowing that it wasn't true, I think they could've made it scarier. It got very good at the end but I wish there would've been more intense events. I thought the acting and the tension between Micah and Katy was pretty good and I did find myself caring about them. I just think that the "demon" should have been scarier and its intentions should've been clearer. It seemed to be sporadically and randomly harrasing the girl. I was just hoping to be genuinely scared but I really wasn't, a few jumpy and creepy parts but not enough terror. The scariest movie I ever saw in a theater was the original Halloween, way back in the 80's.
I've seen all the Star Trek movies, and this was definitely one of the best. The guy who plays Spock is perfect, and Kirk, McCoy and Scott are great also. Chechov is a little annoying, not sure why they didn't get a real Russian actor. Anyway, the chemistry between the actors is excellent, and of course the action and special effects were fantastic. The story line is very clever as the future has been changed so we now can't expect the crews lives to be the same as they were the first time around. I believe a few more movies will be made with these actors and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing them.
