We've all seen the previews and we've all anticipated The Dark Knight since the press release went out. With the death of Heath Ledger, it became a movie you didn't know if you wanted to watch considering the darkness, but knew you had to. I read the reviews as well, so I heard all of the hype surrounding Heath's Oscar-worthy role. I was expecting quite a lot from him. He far out-acted even my expectations, and I was and am a huge fan. To say this role was Oscar-worthy, the role of a lifetime, will not prepare you for what he did with this character. It's fascinating. It's brilliant. You can't take your eyes off of him.
As you would expect most of the reviews to revolve around The Joker (well deserved as well), you can't overlook the work done by the other actors, director, writers, lighting guys, soundmen, and everyone else who worked on this movie. It was fantastic. It did not feel like 2 1/2 hours. This movie will go down in superhero history, as it far surpases any of the former Batmans (yes, I said it). Go see it. Pay the $10, sneak in your own candy. Just go see it.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
