Lovely!

My husband and I are avid movie goers and usually ignore the reviews given by critics as we did in this case. I must say we were very glad we did. This movie was a pleasure to watch because it was slow in it's delivery, Yes, slow and we loved it! It was sweet and quite a lovely love story. With other actors in it, it would have been awful, but with its fine cast, it was magnificent. Each could express a whole paragraph in one look. I think we are constantly in today's world, expecting bigger, better, faster....Tweet this, FB that, email and text. Everything is too fast sometimes. I love technology and used all of the above but sometimes, it's just so nice to slow things down and appreciate the simplicity of life... and this movie is simply about life. Nice movie!

Love this movie!

M. Night Shyamalan isn't particularly well liked by most critics. I'm not quite sure why. He is a magnificent story teller. I've watched every single movie he's made except for AirBender and every time I leave the theatre, I feel that I've been inside a wonderful imaginary story. The action - not big, but why does everything have to be? I read voraciously and watching this movie, as well as all of his other movies, is like reading a great book! It's not much of a horror movie, just a suspenseful movie with a great story. Don't miss out!

One of the very best!!!

Lately it seems to me that critics have completely lost their minds. If you read what the critics say, you might pass this one up. Don't let it happen! It's a great movie. The actors are incredible and the storyline and script are excellent. My husband and I are both avid moviegoers and we had a wonderful time. The 2 hours and 20 minutes fly right by so don't that stop you. Enjoy!

Ugh!

This is a movie that proves that sometimes producers and directors can talk themselves into thinking something is great when in fact it is ridiculous. This was absolutely awful. I waited and waited and found no redeeming characteristics and ultimately just left. I'm an avid movie watcher and I have watched some doosies in the past, but this could be the very worst one yet.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Incredibly well done movie

I must admit that I really had little interest in seeing this movie. I waited, but kept hearing only good things about it so we headed to the theatre. Are we glad we did? I must give a resounding YES!! The movie is excellent.

Eastwood - Spectacular as always!

Clint Eastwood never fails to make a great movie. Not only is he a great actor, but he has the most amazing directing skills and the feel for a great script when he sees it. His knows how to show you characters that are multidimensional which mirror reality instead of the empty shells many movies provide. The movie was moving and interesting and you shouldn't miss it.

Do not miss this movie! It is a beautiful story about the worst and best of humanity, but mostly about the very best! It is also at heart, a sweet love story for the ages. The acting was magnificent. It should become a classic. I may buy this one!

Great movie

I must admit that when the movie began and I saw the depiction of the slums of India, I was sure that I would not like the movie. Yet, I have to admit I really enjoyed it. It was a movie not about the horror of the slums, but the hope of children and the strength of the relationships they make despite difficult circumstances. More than anything, it is a movie about destiny. Well worth watching.

Sweet Holiday Movie

Every year many of us look forward to the latest collection of Holiday fare. This year offers several. Nothing Like the Holidays is exactly the kind of movie I love. While some like ridiculous movies where the characters are rude and mean-spirited like in Bad Santa or the Kranks, I tend to like warm hearted films like this one. No matter what your ethnic background this Puerto Rican family is just like any other family in America. It is a blend of people who love each other despite their differences and who come together at Christmas time each year to share and reminisce. If you love sweet holiday movies, this is one you should not miss!

Still love this Bond

I raced to see this new Bond movie with much anticipation. I loved the edge of the new Bond character in the first one and looked forward to a new episode. To say that this was absolutely spectacular would be an exaggeration. I must say that I was entertained throughout the movie although it was a paltry effort in comparison to the first version. It does however provide closure with regards to his love affair from the first movie and leaves you with hope of much more to come. I think it's most definitely worth seeing.
