Doesn't blow your mind like Pirates, but it's a fun summer flick. David gives all nerds a reason to be proud, and while the misfit-turned-hero is a common character, he's played very well by Baruchel. Cage is really more along for the ride, but, heck, it's Nic Cage. Unfortunately having the hero be a college student won't appeal to the tikes, nor is it over-the-top enough (again a la Pirates) to appeal heavily to the grown ups. Coming out the same week as a film that will appeal to the later, Inception, hasn't helped either, but try to pick up a matinee showing instead of saving it for DVD.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
