As ever, an action movie that doesn't take itself too seriously (unlike the drivel of Taken2) and comes across as great fun and escapism. The plot was scant, the twists foreseen but the two main actors worked well together. The lack of F-word and other swearing wasa noticeable, and pleasent, change. Missed the yippee-ky-yay though! Worth seeing and not disappointing!
Pros well paced, great fun, good action, great effects
Played too much for cheap laughs and poor slap stick The Green Hornet is mediocre at best, and a real let down. With a slightly more serious script - and better acting by Seth Rogen - this could have been an excellent movie. With a better comedy script - and better acting by Seth Rogen - this could have been really funny (like Peter Sellers' version of The Pink Panther). It sits very unhappily inbetween and therefore fails miserably at both! The Green Hornet/Britt Reid character is made to look a jackass, Lenore Case is two-dimensional and sexless and, even though Kato steals the show, he too lacks the greatness spark. Save your money, wait for the free TV showing!
Wow. This is one to make you think (I haven't read the book yet). With a bit of thought it's not confusing at all. It's a very cleverly crafted story that's built on several assumptions around Henry's ability to time travel. It's a poignent story, much more than just a love story, and I thought it was great. Now, where's the book! And the sequel ...
Wonderful! Great continuation of the series. Forget about the kids, this is great for the big kids too!! All the old favorites plus a few new ones with antics that make you laugh out loud.
If you're worried what your friends will think, take a kid. If not, go see it anyway ...
Sorry peeps but this was not anyone's X-Men, least of all your fathers!
The movie lacked cohesion and, unless you're an X-Men nut, don't bother wasting time or money seeing it. Girls, send your fella on his own and go see Star Trek..
... well, almost. Excellent movie, very cleverly scripted, basic plot but hugely funny. IMAX experience is incredible and adds that finishing touch! Great family movie! Go and see it!
... by Kate Winslett! Undoubtably the best movie I've seen in months! Winslett's performance was powerful and demanded your attention. Although the background theme was the holocaust, this was not the prime theme. The psychology behind Hanna Schmidt's (Winslett) actions in not speaking out about something she was so ashamed and haunted by kept me hooked. There's no big shocks, just one continuous, breath-taking incredulity! Fiennes, as Hanna's teen lover, puts in a great performance. If you enjoy an intelligent and thought-provoking movie, see this one. It's set the 2009 benchmark for me!
A sad and sorry performance. There was none of the chemistry so apparent in the first two films between Foster, Hannah and Weisz. Bello lacked magnetism and seemed very 2D by comparison. The plot was generic, seeming little different from Mummy 2 apart from location. The script was forced with none of the expected humor. Change the formula, or get better plot ideas, please!
