Most horrid movie in years!

I expected Ben Stein to provide a thoughtful discussion of ID - however, this presentation lacks any rigor in its thinking, analysis, or discussion.
Yes, if a person claims to be a scientist, then they will lose tenure and research funding if they do not do science. Ben Stein seems to think that this is a problem - however that is how science works. Just like film makers, if they don't make good films, they will not be paid.
In the film, Stein refers to "problems with the theory of evolution" without once mentioning one of the problems. He then indicates that ID provides solutions to those problems, again without once providing an example.
The complete argument is that since we have not, to date, demonstrated the first inorganic-to-organic transition, it is too complicated to be understood in any way other than Intelligent Design.
His statistical argument regarding the probability of more then 200 proteins being created at the same time being highly improbable completely misses the basic theme of evolution - which is that life did not happen at once, the current composition of life on this planet was, and still is being, developed as a result of small changes and adaptations occurring over long periods of time.
The most frightening part of watching this film came at the end - when most of the audience applauded. To me, this was a demonstration of the complete absence of critical thinking - just the type of thinking necessary for real science - and real progress against the significant problems of humankind.
In writing this review I am sorry one cannot give this film no stars at all - stay away!
No, I do not recommend this movie.
