I fouind the movie to be VERY good, however... for people who had not read the book, it could have been confusing. Some of the scenes didn't make that much sense unless you had the background information from the book. I was also dissapointed in the focus on the realtionships between the teen cast. Yes, tyey were an integral part of the book, but more important was the quest for the Horcruxes, which we only found out about in the last third of the movie. I also wish that they had left in the funeral scene from the book. It was incredibly touching and symbolic, and truly set the stage for the final book. (or movies)
I loved this movie! I will admit that I had my doubts about Robert Downey Jr. as an action/super hero... but this movie was fantastic! I enjoyed the buildup to the huge end fight, and loved the bits of humor scattered throughout the movie. I also loved having a superhero that wasn't a kid! Tony Stark is a grown up, mostly, and not some teenager who doesn't think bad things can happen to him. PS- Stay through the credits... you won't regret it!
While I am still not sure Michael Angarano should be in any type of action movie, how could I have not enjoyed a Martial Arts film with Jackie Chan and Jet Li? The fight scenes were so much fun to watch, and utilized so much from classic Kung Fu movies. I recommend ANYONE who enjoys a little comedy with their action go see this movie!
