Throughly entertaining and very moving

Great acting throughout by the entire cast. The story is very moving and totally human in all aspects. At time comic and at time heartfelt, a full range of emotions is hit in this film. This is a film of love, attachment and family.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

If you're going to this movie to see the performers and hear the songs of Woodstock , then is definitly for you.
Ang Lee's movie is about Woodstock but more, about how it came to bet and what took place off stage, not on.Lee has made a wonderful re-creation of the time and feel of Woodstock portrayed with moving, funny and empathetic characters.
This is not a concert film. This is a film about the people, the era and how it all took place. Characters are well developed and outstandingly portrayed. The acting is superb, especially "Elliott's parents." The mother practically "steals" the movie.
If you want to see a film about time, place and the people in it, then I highly recommend "Taking Woodstock."
