Is this movie a joke?

I'm a fan of Indiana Jones. Raiders of the Lost Ark is one of the all time best movies. I thought the first sequel was so-so, and the Last Crusade was marginally good.
But this movie...was....terrible. I know that the movies are always a bit of a stretch in the action scenes, but they took it beyond ridiculous. Why was Cate Blanchett playing the role of Natasha from Rocky and Bullwinkle? And why did she lose her extreme Russian accent in some of her lines? The sword fight between her and Shia on the moving jeeps took way way way too long.
Don't waste your money. This is nothing more than Spielberg and Lucas cashing a check.
