This movie was absolutely incredible. I've spent this summer trying not to have lots of expectations going into movies and I can honestly say that no matter how high my expectations may have been about The Dark Knight, it exceeded every single one of them!
Christian Bale combines the perfect amount of the intellectual Bruce Wayne with the brash and headstrong Batman. I was skeptical about the Oscar buzz for Heath Ledger, but he seriously, seriously deserves it. He was absolutely, insanely (no pun intended) fascinating and frightening as the Joker. Aaron Eckhart really surprised me as Harvey Dent - he was really great as Gotham's "White Knight."
Morgan Freeman, Sir Michael Caine and Gary Oldman all reprise their roles as excellent as any character they've ever played; and Maggie Gyllenhaal does a fantastic job of playing Rachel Dawes, especially when she goes through something I never expected.
All in all, this movie was absolutely far more than I ever expected it to be. EASILY the biggest hit of the summer - and not just because of box office sales. I have every intention of seeing it again, only in IMAX the next time around.
The Dark Knight soars miles above all the other blockbusters of 2008 - it will absolutely blow you away.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I've only seen the anime (dubbed in English, of course), but the movie followed pretty closely to it. Naomi's death was a little different, but I concluded that was because they needed a climactic moment for the film - they did a good job of keeping the rest of it close to the show.
If you really love the anime (or manga, I'm sure), then you will really love the movie. It traveled rather slowly, but it stuck right to the general plotline.
The actor who played L was amazing! It was pretty much like watching the cartoon character come to life - he did an incredible job of working the mannerisms and attitude. Light was a little different. I didn't feel that he was as close to the anime as L was, but he did do a great job, nonetheless.
Overall, a really great film - I'll definitely be seeing the second one!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

LOVED IT! All our favorite characters are back, from the Kings and Queens, to Aslan, even the White Witch herself. And newcomer, Ben Barnes, is absolutely charming as Prince Caspian. The dialogue is a bit more mature and witty than the first movie, as is the plotline. More war and battle scenes, but really good, overall. Georgie Henley (Lucy) is absolutely gorgeous and all the kids have begun to grow into their own quite nicely. We meet new characters that capture our hearts just as Mr. Tumnus and the Beavers did in the first film. Disney has done a fabulous job of bringing C.S. Lewis' timeless characters to life.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
