There Are No New Stories, Just New Retellings

I am definitely in love with AVATAR, but I’ll try to be balanced. Truly if James Cameron’s were humble he’d ask a good dialog writer to caress his characters’ words to sound less clichéd. And yes this story has been told before. But those are only minor distractions from the beauty and spectacle of this cinematic phenomenon. I enjoyed Cameron’s retelling of classic stories and themes through his state of the art computer graphics imagination. And also his cautionary tale about Western Civilization’s self centered obsession with destroying paradise here on earth or elsewhere. It is a film with romance and adventure. But bottom line: it is the most immersing sensory butt kicking experience you’ll ever have in a movie theatre. Don’t miss it!
