In a groundbreaking special effects movie, the plot doesn't really matter - think about the first Matrix movie. The characters are engaging and the plot is satisfactory, but the Real 3D is the real deal and the reason to go to the show. Phenomenal!

This dark, action-packed movie does not disappoint. Heath Ledger's Joker is a twisted menace and packs more gut-wrenching evil than Nicholson's lighter, almost silly protrayal. Christian Bale is brooding and angry as Batman but his lighthearted playboy "face" is delightfully disarming. Eckhart as Harvey Dent gives a *searing* performance and promises great returns as this character. With smoky, sexy Maggie Gyllenhall playing Rachel, Katie Holmes is NOT missed. Overall a taut, satisfying addition to the genre.
