Probably not for soft over-protective parents

This is the only time I've ever contributed a movie review and my motivating force was quite a few negative reviews from parents that this movie is "too creepy" or "not for kids".
We took our 3-yr old & 14-yr old daughters along with our 6-yr old son to see Coraline in 3D yesterday and they all LOVED IT. As soon as the credits started rolling, my son looked at me and said, "Now, that was AWESOME".
It's a little creepy... but no more creepy than "Nightmare Before Christmas"... If your kids can't handle that classic, then keep them away from this movie as well... stay home and watch Care Bears.
I will add that I don't think the 3D experience adds much to the film.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
