The Dark Knight

My wife and I went to the midnight showing of The Dark Knight and left a two and a half hour movie wide awake! This movie was intense all around. Funny when it should have been (although, the humor is very dark, so it's right up my alley), dramatic at the right moments, and action during and in between. The length of this movie wasn't really noticed by me at all (and being a smoker that's saying something!) and when it finally ended all I really wanted was more. The comic book purists will have a lot to say, negatively, about this movie, the story doesn't follow the comics exactly. But I would recommend this to anyone I talked to and remind them that it is a movie, not a comic book. Sometimes the comics put a little too much into one book and when you try to that on screen then you end up with "Batman Forever" and "Batman and Robin". No one wants that again!
The entire cast was wonderful. And the rumors of Heath Ledger getting a posthumous Oscar? Well, anyone who sees this movie will tell you that he deserves an Oscar for that performance! I think regardless of his death (R.I.P.) he would have been nominated at the very least. He really showed his acting abilities with this role, and gave me a new respect for him. He certainly would have climbed out of the teen films for greater things due to this movie.
Everyone should treat themselves to this movie, it was fantastic! One of the most "believable" comic book movies made so far! No superpowers, just money and brains, and a hatred for crime lords buying their way through the justice system. The hero we all wish we could be.
