Nice flick...

My boyfriend and I took in this show on Saturday. The visual effects were pretty stunning. I think perhaps the role of Alice was poorly cast: likely she matches the description from the books, but she was so frail. I will say that Anne Hathaway was nicely cast as the White Queen. Her potion-making scene was one of the funniest spots in the movie.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I was hoping for something akin to the original X-Men flick. This movie seemed to be more about martial arts than mutant powers. Seeing Hugh Jackman naked was the highlight of the show.

I found Watchmen to be much more violent than I had expected, and the storyline was chessy. But the special effects--and the male nudity--were fantastic. I was appalled that some people brought their young children to see this flick: I could just see our next serial killers being visually stimulated for future action. A word of advice: DON'T BRING THE KIDS, JERKS! It's an R-rated movie with tons of killings and multilations as well as a sexually charged cast and ample nudity. Love your kids enough to leave them at a sitter or stay at home yourself!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
