I really enjoyed this remake of Superman! I was a little skeptical of seeing this movie since the last remake was horrible but I'm glad I gave it a chance. Some might complain that the movie started out with Superman being born on Krypton. But I think it was a good idea and I think Nolan did this to introduce a new generation of kids like my 7 year old son to the origin of Superman.
I'm glad Nolan didn't go with the often used Lex Luther and/or Kryptonite storyline. I loved how he showed the struggle the Clark Kent had as a child and teenager adjust with his powers and using self control.
All the characters were excellent and well portrayed except Amy Adams who played Lois Lane. She was boring and a horrible choice. Lois Lane's character has always been vibrant, feisty, and independent...and Adams was neither of these things. They should have picked Olivia Wilde, Rachel McAdams, or Emily Blunt---some who would have portrayed Lane better.
I was a senior in high school back in 2001 when the first F&F came out. And now as a adult with kids it felt great to see the original cast and others back together. This franchise has such a huge, diverse fan base because who doesn't like fast cars !?! It is unbelievable that this franchise could last for over a decade without having originated from books or comic books like the Harry Potter or Marvel franchises. For the last 12 years I have enjoyed each and every installment and this one in particular did not disappoint! Go see it, you won't be disappointed!
The last installment of the Twilight series was awesome! I won't spoil the movie, but there was plenty of comedy, action, and drama. It kept me on the edge of my seat with excitement. There were people in my theater clapping for the characters at certain times and stomping their feet in frustration other times. This movies definitely had us true fans on an emotional roller coaster in certain scenes. We saw the 10pm show last nite (Thurs) and all 7 theaters were sold out! Everyone in my party enjoyed the movie. We even had one person that hadn't read the books or seen the other 4 movies and loved it!
I think the movie could have been 15-30 min longer, esp. with this being the last one. They surprisingly kept it under 2 hours. I only wish they would have delved more into Bella adapting and adjusting to being a vampire or more time on Renesmee. But over all, 20 thumbs up and definitely worth the money!
To be honest the only reason I gave this movie 4 stars instead of 3 is because it was awesome to see some real Navy vets and wounded soldiers in this movie. It gave the movie heart and gave me a sense of pride for our military heroes. The Transformer-like special effects was nothing new. The story line could have been better. They should have explained WHY the aliens came to earth, instead they guessed why they came. Oh, and they just so happened to have enough live weapons is a ship that's been lying dormant for 70 years? C'mon now
When you spend 100+ million dollars making an action summer "blockbuster". It needs to be top notch in all aspects not just ok. So I guess Avengers will be #1 again this weekend. My theater was only half full. I guess no one believed the hype.
Excellent movie. From what I had been reading online, everyone was saying that Iron Man steals the show. I disagree. Hulk stole the show!!!!! I knew Stark/IM was going to be his normal witty/cocky self. They even gave Hawkeye and Black Widow bigger roles than I thought they were. I also though they were going to try and cram a bunch of each superhero's back story into the plot, but they didn't. Great cast, great movie. I will have to go see it one more time this weekend.
Great Movie!!!! I wasn't really excited about going to see this movie, due to the bland superhero/action movies that have come out this summer. But, being a loyal Marvel fan, I went anyway and was thoroughly surprised. All the actors were great. If you stay past the credits there's a very small clip b/w Cap. A and Nick Fury followed by a trailer for the Avengers movie. I love how they are weaving all the storylines together...and of course Stan Lee had to do another cameo...he just can't help himself!
This movie was hilarious! But personally too many p-words and d-words for me, but hey, I kind of expected it. I loved seeing Jennifer Aniston play a pyscho and Kevin Spacey was excellent as usual. The trio of guys were good as well. Favorite parts: Scenes with MotherF*cker Jones and the vacuum-ing of the cocaine! If you don't like alot of profanity and crude language this is not the movie for you.
Movie was pretty good, action was great...could have been 30 minutes shorter. Little insignificant but unrealistic things really annoy me in movies....for example, the new leading lady "Carly" is running around Chicago with Shia and the whole city is being detroyed. She has on a white top and all white jacket and she never gets dirty. Seriously??? I mean, they are getting thrown from buildings, cars, and airplanes and she looks like she just came from a leisurely day at the mall! WTF! At the end she had a few smudges on her face WOW! She should have been looking like Shia did more or less. At least in Transformers 2, they realistically made Megan Fox look a little banged up...
This movie was fantastic! Great action, good plot. The only thing I would say is there was a lot of cursing-much more than the first one. So if you're one of those parents that do not want your kids "sensitive" ears to here such language, then go by yourself. Will see it again. This time in IMAX.
This movie definitely makes up for Tokyo Drift. It had action in it from beginning to end and it felt good to see the original characters again. Definitely recommend to anyone that wants to see a good adrenaline ride and a pretty good story line. I left the movie theater wanting to speed down the highway going 100 mph!
