There is always major differences between a book and a movie, but The Hunger Games came pretty close. Minor changes were there (mockingjay pin, Katniss and Peeta's time in the cave, gift from District 11, final fight involving Cato and the beasts), but everything significant was still intact.
In the novel, we read her thoughts, but Lawrence does an amazing job with simply a look. I felt like the actors and actresses really had a good connection on screen... like it wasn't forced. On top of that, camera shots and the right music set the atmosphere for the arena. Beware: you will most likely cry at least once!! I can't wait for Catching Fire.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I AM NUMBER FOUR is an amazing book. Obviously, the movie has to cut and/or adjust details to fit everything in. Some alterations were a little disappointing though. Pettyfer did a great job as #4, but Palmer as #6 didn't really impress me. One ultimate reason to see this movie - you can always count on Michael Bay to produce an awesome fight scene.
