Avatar program very interesting. Visual fx were, of course, amazing. The 3D was great for about 30 minutes, until you got used to it and forgot you were watching 3D. It was artistically done, but unnecessary. Good visual effects cannot make a movie without a good story and I didn't buy this one at all. It got worse and more unbelievable as the movie went on. When bad guys are bad just for the sake of being bad, it doesn't work. There was no good argument for a conflict. Very heavy-handed in making a parallel about our current global political conflicts. Not subtle, and didn't "make you think." Dialogue was also too expository. Saving grace was visual scenery. Enough to recommend it. But it might be better on mute.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
