A disaster movie. Emphasis on Disaster.

Simply awful. Slow and ponderous, every character is a cliche, every plot element is predictable. The movie is at least 45 minutes too long. The dialogue is silly. There is simply not much good that can be said about this mess. Maybe the portrayal of the aborigine characters, who at least have some depth. Some of the panoramic shots are beautiful, but even the cinematography is heavy handed. Only completely romantic sentimentalists willing to suspend critical faculties should see this movie.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
