I love this genre - superheroes, action (and I'm a girl p.s.) - but I have seen it done so poorly in the last few years I didn't have too much hope for this.
I was surprised in a great way. I think the quality that I loved most about this film was that I was never distracted by the presence of a computer. I'm sure digital manipulation was used quite a bit, but the scenes where he is building the suit, learning to use it, and the first night he flies - they felt so real and convincing. Nothing like a mushy-faced Hulk or offensive and floppy Jar Jar binks.
And of course Robert Downey Jr. didn't hurt either.
