There's a reason why it's still number 1...

While "Batman Begins" truly redefined the superhero film for me, I still felt it had its flaws. The pacing was a little off at times, especially when it came to the latter half of the film. It seemed to have lost the suspense and storytelling of the first hour and started to rely only on its action sequences. "The Dark Knight," however, took everything that was spectacular about its predecessor -- the brilliant performances, the beautiful cinematography, the driving music, and most of all the flawless direction of Christopher Nolan -- and created something that went far beyond my already hyped-up expectations.
Gotham City and its inhabitants have never felt so real. It's perfectly clear that Nolan nurtured every single detail that went into recreating the endangered city. The mark of a brilliant filmmaker is often not seen but felt -- and you'll feel it. There's a reason why "The Dark Knight" has topped the box office for two weeks in a row and possibly a third -- actually, there are several reasons that will be demonstrated to you once you seat yourself in front of that theatre screen (or IMAX screen, if you REALLY want to feel it).
Of course, I can't finish off the review without mentioning Heath Ledger. I don't know how to put his performance into words. All I know is that I FELT The Joker's every beat, every footstep, every blink. Feel it for yourself.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
